ICEYE US Awarded Contract Under National Reconnaissance Office Strategic Commercial Enhancements Program

NRO selects ICEYE US as a commercial space-based intelligence provider under flexible acquisition vehicle designed to rapidly integrate commercial space capabilities

IRVINE, Calif., May 14, 2026 — ICEYE US today announced it has been selected for a contract award under the National Reconnaissance Office’s (NRO) Strategic Commercial Enhancements (SCE) Commercial Solutions Opening (CSO). The award recognizes ICEYE US as a commercial space-based intelligence provider contributing to the NRO's expanding multi-phenomenology ISR mission.

The SCE CSO is a flexible acquisition vehicle designed to rapidly integrate commercial technologies — including electro-optical, hyperspectral, radar, radio frequency, and LiDAR — into NRO operations. The program features a rolling five-year proposal window that enables the NRO to engage a diverse range of providers without fixed deadlines, accelerating the delivery of operational capabilities to the intelligence community and its interagency partners.

said Pete Muend, director of the NRO’s Commercial Systems Program Office in the organization’s initial announcement.

The NRO announced its first SCE CSO contract awards in February 2026. The program complements existing SCE Broad Agency Announcements and is designed to expand the government’s toolkit for agile commercial acquisition. Additional awards are anticipated later in 2026.
